Great day today with Alabama Birding Trails, Birmingham Audubon, AMRV RC&D, and WaterWorks Center for Environmental Education & AMRV RC&D. We had a great teacher workshop at Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge Complex followed by some canoeing. Good birds, including an immature Bald Eagle (no photo). After the event, Greg Harber and I headed south to the Alabama Wildlife Center and then down to Motevallo’s Ebeneezer Swamp. Got to see a beautiful Prothonatary Warbler.
Alabama Mound Trail
Working with the University of Alabama and the Alabama RC&D Councils, I helped to develop the Alabama Mound Trails website. There are a large number of mounds documented throughout Alabama. The ones on the trail are safe to direct visitors to. alabamamoundtrail.org

Alzheimer’s of Central Alabama 2018 Calendar
I’ve been putting the annual calendar together for ALZCA for over 10 years now. It is always a treat to see the artwork created by these folks. Inspiring.
Flash Cards for the Alabama Birding Trails Project
Created flash cards to be used in field trips and classroom activities. The cards have information about each bird, including seasons they are seen in Alabama, on one side an an image of the bird on the other.
