Invitation to the Garden Art Party and More

April 24, 2011 by joewatts

Have been working on a number of projects over the last couple of months. From East Alabama Tourism, several web projects with my friends at DavisDenny and a new website for the Perry County Chamber of Commerce to a newsletter and an invitation to the Garden Art Party for Alzheimer’s of Central Alabama (my favorite charity event of the year AND a great place to get some awesome deals on art), I’ve been busy, busy….

The Perry County website has some fun mapping features and audio. Visit it to learn about the many tourist attractions–loads of historical homes, two historic colleges, black heritage and so much more–complete with pictures, area natives providing an oral history and GPS coordinates so you can actually visit the sites (over 50 sites!).

I’ve been working with the State RC&D Program since 2000 or so. This year, we’ve produced a similar annual report to previous years but decided to print the cover in color.

Alzheimer’s of Central Alabama Garden Art Party 2010 Invitation

April 18, 2010 by joewatts

Finished this invitation several weeks ago, but thought I’d go ahead and post it on the blog today anyway. The artwork is really pretty amazing–Alzheimer’s patients created it in a collaborative environment. I have been lucky enough to go and take photos of some of these folks working on art here in Birmingham and it has been a wonderful experience.

New Brochure for Payne Lake and Surrounding Area

March 29, 2010 by joewatts

This is part of a larger project I’ve been working on with several folks. The larger project takes place in the Lower Cahaba watershed (www.lowercahaba.com). I’m actually in the process of changing the website over to a drupal based website (but that’s not public yet). Here’s the brochure:

Alzheimer’s of Central Alabama Garden Art Party 2010

March 12, 2010 by joewatts

Ann and I always love to go to the Garden Art Party every spring. We seem to manage to come home with more great stuff every year. (Last year, we got a great 3 night vacation to Florida and several really nice pieces of original art from local artists–all at a bargain price.) And the best part is that ALZCA uses their money as well as any other nonprofit I’ve seen.

Here’s the Save the Date card I just finished (complete with art painted by Alzheimer’s patients):
