Just finished a quick redesign for the Rural Heritage Center in Thomaston, Alabama. Redesigned using, as I pretty much do all websites now, in WordPress. Very flexible, very simple. Now, they can make their own updates!

Alabama Communities of Excellence
Website (really, websites) in progress. Initial redesign included new logo, complete overall of website design, color scheme. Now working on developing a pretty large resource directory that includes information towns across Alabama can utilize to make their communities more livable. Also creating a tourism database of attractions and recurring events for each of the 25+ towns that are part of the Alabama Communities of Excellence (ACE) program.
Excellent Vacation to New England
Fall leaves, wonderful weather, great food–a surprise small earthquake–and very relaxing. Plus, got to pick up some excellent materials to use in Alabama over the next year!
Desoto State Park Birding Trip
A spring trip to Desoto State Park before heading on to Little River Canyon and a meeting of the Appalachian Highlands Birding Trail group at the Canyon Center. I remember going here as a child with my siblings and mother and father. Great times were had along the trails at Desoto State Park–every single trail…. Thanks Mama!
Interpretive Panel for West Point Lake / Alligator Trail Area
Just sent this panel off to be produced. When complete, it will be mounted at the Alligator Trail area on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers property in Chambers County, Alabama. You can read more about the location by visiting www.alabamabirdingtrails.com and clicking on the Chambers County link.
Alabama Birding Trail Project
Wow! A little over a year ago, I started working the Center for Economic Development on the University of Alabama campus on a project with the Alabama Tourism Department. We took the project over from a consultant who had done a good bit of initial work into organizing folks. We held the first of four kick-offs last week, this one for the Piedmont Plateau Birding Trail. We’ll be doing the other 3, along with some additional work on 4 that already exist to varying degrees in Alabama, over the next year. For now, explore the Piedmont Plateau Birding Trail on the statewide website that I’ve set up: for the Alabama Birding Trails project: www.alabamabirdingtrails.com. It isn’t fully developed yet, but you can read about each of the sites, see photos for many of them and find all of them via gps mapping. What a great project! (Snapshot of the website below)
